SAP S/4 HANA OP 1809 considerations or changes in the context of SLT replication

Hello All,

I would like post this blog to clarify few questions around SLT replication with SAP S/4 HANA 1809 release based on my recent experience on this release

As we all know, with SAP S/4 HANA release the software component DMIS was integrated into S4CORE layer.

 

1. SAP S/4 HANA OP 1809 can be used as SLT replication server?

Answer: No, we can not use S/4 system as SLT replication server from 1809 release, except in the  context of Central Finance.

2. SAP S/4 HANA 1809 can be used as source or target of a SLT replication?

Yes, If you use S/4 HANA 1809 as the source or target system of a SLT replication, it is recommended that the SAP NetWeaver release of the SLT system is on the same or higher release as the S/4 HANA system.

If there is no respective SAP NetWeaver release available, it is recommended to use the latest SAP NetWeaver release. This is necessary to support all data types of the S/4 HANA system in the SLT replication. Otherwise, tables with columns using e.g. data type INT8 cannot be replicated.

 

3. Necessary changes for integrating SAP Customer Activity Repository applications bundle with SAP S/4HANA 1809

If you are upgrading from SAP S/4HANA 1709 to 1809, it is mandatory that you drop and re-replicate all tables to target database.
