Variant/Save as Tile/Bookmark used in Sales Analytics apps

Intro

Variants/Save ad Tile/Bookmarks store view settings, such as filter settings, filter layouts, table layouts, and chart layouts. End users can load, save, change, and maintain variants/bookmarks.

  • Variant: supports almost all analytical reports, such as
    • Design Studio reports (including preview queries in Tile “Custom Analytical Queries”)
    • Web Dynpro reports
    • Analytical List Page(ALP)
    • Overview Page(OVP)
    • Other Fiori reports (Smart Business apps cannot save variants)
  • Save As Tile: supports almost all analytical reports (except Web GUI apps).
  • Bookmark: Used in Web Dynpro reports

 

Variant

Variant supports almost all analytical reports, such as Design Studio reports, Web Dynpro reports, Analytical List Page and other Fiori reports.

Notes

Smart Business reports do not support variant saving currently. However, you can use “Save as Tile” to save specific selection criteria. For details, see the next section.)

You can save the settings as your own variant, change the default variant, as well as change and delete variants.

To publicize your variants, click Save As and choose Public. Then other users can also see this variant.

One tip: To view public variants, lighten

Save as Tile

Users can save a selected variant as a tile on the Launchpad. Choose Save as Tile from the Share menu. Then users can access Saved Tile from Launchpad and open it via a specific variant.

Bookmark

 

Bookmarks are used in Web Dynpro apps to store both filter settings and table layouts, whereas variants can only store selection in filters bar of Web Dynpro apps.

You need to have the authorization of business catalog SAP_CORE_BC_EXT_FLEX or role template SAP_BR_EXTENSIBILITY_SPEC to publicize bookmarks.

To make your bookmark public, click Save As and choose Public.

      And where are the bookmarks created stored in the backend tables? Or how can they be transported?
