Infosys and SAP have a long-standing partnership having delivered several successful projects across the globe. Being a global leader in next-generation digital services and consulting, Infosys enables clients in 45 countries to navigate their digital transformation.

Infosys worked closely with SAP Integration and Certification Center (SAP ICC), part of
Partner Innovation Lifecycle Services to complete the successful integration certification for their solution IOAP - Infosys Open Source Automation Platform v1.0 thereby increasing credibility of IOAP solution and its positioning to customers with a certified solution. To get a better view and insight about the certified solution, we spoke to Sandeep Subhash Mohire, Senior Project Manager, Infosys Limited.

1) Firstly, congratulations on successfully completing the certification for your product IOAP - Infosys Open Source Automation Platform v1.0. Can you tell what this product is all about?
IOAP is a complete Open Source Automation Platform to automate SAP business processes including end-to-end integrated business scenarios. It reduces time to market by up to 30% with cost reduction of up to 35% in testing journey. IOAP uses Python scripting and Anaconda repository with open source IDE to automate SAP ERP, SAP S/4HANA and SAP NetWeaver applications.

3) Why was it important for Infosys to apply for certification?
To have a solution capability check and achieve accreditation before positioning IOAP to customers. It would also help customers to validate the solution, while implementing IOAP for test automation of their SAP ecosystem.

4) How did the certification help in improving the quality of the product and positioning it to customers?
The solution covers most areas of SAP ecosystem, which includes SAP S/4HANA,
SAP ERP, SAP NetWeaver, SAP Ariba, SAP Concur etc. The certification process required us to cover some of the business process scenarios, which were validated by SAP ICC. During review process, SAP ICC checked IOAP platform’s ability to create test scripts and execute them to support underlying technology of the SAP apps, thereby increasing credibility of IOAP solution and its positioning to customers with a certified solution.

The solution also offers E2E automation (SAP & interfacing apps), critical validation checks and evidence of testing by customized reports. The open source platform (IOAP) makes strong case for adoption of Agile / DevOps methodology and it seamlessly integrates with other open source tools. IOAP ensures committed Return on Investment (ROI) at a very early stage of automation journey.

5) How long has been your association with SAP ICC and if you can share your experience?
It has been a very fruitful six months’ journey with SAP ICC, starting with conceptualization of solution to certifying every business process. This also helped to ensure capability and authentication of IOAP platform by SAP ICC.

6) What next for IOAP - Infosys Open Source Automation Platform?
Our endeavor is to help SAP customers reduce test cycle duration, improve time to market and completely remove automation tool dependency by moving to Open Source technology. This will help our customers to quickly validate their transformation journey to latest SAP platforms of SAP S/4HANA and SAP C/4HANA with SAP Activate methodology. The current version of IOAP is up-to-date with support for all SAP technologies. For any new application stack that SAP releases in the future, we will work to include support for it in the next version.

Thank you for the information Sandeep and I hope Infosys continues to certify many more solutions with SAP ICC.
