In the world, more than 500,000 women died each year from breast cancer, a number not less registered, which is as if the entire population of a city died in a year, however, is not the only cause of high mortality.

As the years have passed, people have seen the consequences of human intervention in nature, where they have investigated and taken measures to take care of the agriculture of other actors who want to consume it, as well as strengthen it so that it has an improvement, creating thus pesticides, pesticides and fertilizers / substrates. However, this solution presented not only impacts these small living beings, but also the trophic chain of human beings.

Problem: increase in the female mortality rate generated by insecticides and fertilizers.

At the local level, in our country the Pesticide Action Network and its Latin American Alternatives (RAP-AL) together with the Alliance for a Better Quality of Life presented the report “Situation of Highly Dangerous Pesticides in Chile”. This report analyzed the 400 pesticides registered and authorized in Chile by the SAG and showed that 102 of them are highly dangerous for health and the ecosystem, of these it was decided to relate some of the compounds within pesticides and fertilizers or excess of these, which produce a considerable increase in the probability of contracting some type of skin disease or breast cancer, because women are more likely to get diseases due to their anatomy, since the female body has a greater fat index.

For this reason it was decided to investigate databases of pesticides and fertilizers used throughout Chile over the years, emphasizing those with the highest levels of toxicity for humans, "red" level and to be able to check with tables of disease and death rate data in women related to these problems.

Data and analysis using SAP Analytics Cloud

The following graphs show the mortality rates by gender between 2000 and 2011 of cancer in the following order:

    • Colon

    • Cervix

    • Stomach

    • Esophagus

    • Liver and intrahepatic bile ducts

    • Mom

    • Malignant melanoma of the skin

    • Other malignant tumors

    • Other malignant skin tumors

    • Pancreas

    • Straight

    • Trachea, bronchi and lung

    • Vesicle, from other parts and unspecified of the bile ducts

As it has been observed the mortality rates in both men and women increase over the years:

In the female gender, it increased by 30%, 25%, 40%, 50% and 100% in Colon, Breast, Other types of tumors, Pancreas and Tracheas / bronchi / lung respectively.

While in the male gender the same parameters had increases in 45%, 1%, 12%, 10%, 20% Colon, Breast, other tumors, Pancreas, trachea / bronchi / lung respectively in the same period of time.

Conclusions

We can visualize the rise in mortalities by women, which according to studies are more likely to contract these diseases through the easy absorption of the chemical compounds of these products, however it has not been possible to verify and compare with the amount of pesticides and fertilizers used in those years, which indicates the need to apply an efficient and transparent system of data collection regarding the quality of products sold year after year, in this way to establish and analyze the true danger that means Use these substances that modify the environment and exposes the women of the world.
