How to start with S/4 HANA Output management for Material Management

I have decided to share the steps, which could probably ease the understanding of new S/4 HANA Output management functionality for Material Management, and prepare the reader for a deeper dive.

I went through this path myself, when learning this functionality:

  1. Read the section Output Management in the most recent Simplification List available to get the overview of the functionality. Here you can find the Simplification List for SAP S/4HANA 1809.
  2. Read 2228611 – Output Management in SAP S/4HANA to get more details about latest version.
  3. Read 2524991 – FAQ: Output Management in S/4 for Inventory Management to learn some specifics of Inventory Management component.
  4. Read 2461075 – Output Management in S/4 HANA Cloud 1708 and On Premise 1709 for Goods Movement Default Customization to learn how to set up standard forms.
  5. If you require a new form, or want to adopt legacy forms for S/4 HANA Output management functionality, please carefully learn 2294198 – SAP S/4HANA output control – customized forms together with developer.

Probably, these post will be updated, as I get deeper into the topic.

Comments and questions are highly appreciated.

  • Hi Konstantin,

    Thank you for the information.

Seeing the various documents definitely helps.  Currently i am going through the same process of reading various materials and configure in system. Often various links and OSS notes makes the task challenging and ‘lost in jungle of information’.

What would be really helpful is a step- by step guide with screenshots of how to do things. say PO output

or sending PO to multiple email addresses using BRF+

Currently i could not find any such ‘dummy’s manual’ ,

https://blogs.sap.com/2019/08/28/new-output-management-for-s4-system.-purchase_order-sales_order.print-idoc/ This may be of help, which i am now referring , but if do not give simple step by step guide, i may think of putting it myself,

If you have anything already available to share for the community, it will benefit many 🙂
