Codejam Grafenrheinfeld – Custom Code Management
This years codejam was something about a topic everyone is talking about. More or less. What do I have to do when moving to S/4.
What can I do today?
What do I need to do today?
The participants had the chance to hear the latest and greatest news about it at Codejam Grafenrheinfeld.
Ingo Bräuninger and two other SAP-Colleagues presented the topic to the 16 participants.
Today’s fact:
SAP provides a process for the system conversion to SAP S/4HANA. So that also means when there is a process, there are also tools available 🙂
And that is exact the awesome advantage to participate.
We had access to three systems.
- SAP S/4 HANA 1809
- SCP ABAP System
- SAP ERP 6.0 EHP7 on SAP HANA 1.0 SP9
The catalogue of exercises where huge enough to fill all the day and even some said that they will continue the next days.
Here is a brief overview what we used:
Collecting usage Data (ABAP Call Monitor)
Analyzing the collected data and build a scope
The Simplification Database à How to read it, how to not get lost here
ABAP Test Cockpit – Check with remote ATC
Fiori custom Code Migration App
SAP Development Tools à ADT
Adapt your custom Code
ABAPgit à Migrate parts of the source code to SCP
Develop a FIORI App
That is a lot information packed in one day!
I could write now a lot about the technical features we used, but that is not something useful, because it would mix up different topics.
I just want to make you all aware, when there is a Codejam at your area, take the chance and grab a seat. It is free and you can learn a lot.
I am sure, everyone had something to take with. Even if it is just the pizza served for lunch
The main message of such an event is
Learn together,
Share your thoughts and connect with others.
And if there is no codejam around your area, why not host one by your own.
The process is easy and straight forward. Have a look here:

Thank you SAP for providing events like that and also thank you to
Cheers
