How to Restore/Rollback to Restore Point

A restore point is a snapshot of your system’s data at a specific point in time. It should be requested as a fallback system before executing data migration processes or other critical operations in your current system.

Per tenant, only one active restore point is allowed. By default, restore points have a validity period of 14 days and are deleted afterwards automatically. Within this period, you have the option to create an incident if you wish to Reset/Rollback your system to this restore point.

Restore/Rollback from Restore Point can be requested from your end via Service Control Center work center.

To request Restore to Restore Point, request you to follow the below steps:

  1. Go to Service Control Center work center.
  2. Go to Systems view.
  3. Select the system which has the Active Restore Point.
  4. Click on Reset to Restore Point button.
  5. Fill the required details & Click on Ok.

NOTE: A restore point can be used only for one time restore. This mean we cannot use one restore point for multiple restores.

      Hi,

If we have to extend restore point validity period of 14 days, what are the steps to follow?

      Hello Mohamed,

It is not possible to extend the validity of restore point, you have to terminate the existing restore point and request new restore point for the same.

      Dear Ankit,

      Thanks for your quick response.

Let me brief my business requirement.

I have prepared and shown an initial demo to management (almost all business scenarios) with some test data in my current test system. I want to keep backup of this test system (restore point) for any future references (atleast 2 months) for business before refreshing the same test system for loading opening balance and actual test entries.

How to achieve this? Please assist.

      Hello Mohamed,

Unfortunately it is not possible to extend more than 2 weeks, however request you to report an incident with details like, Restore Point ID, and Justified reason for the extension of Restore Point.

Once the incident is created we will align with concerned team to discuss this exception requirement and will keep you posted accordingly in the incident.

      Regards,

      Ankit K
