SAP Partner Solution Center guided Mexican Partner Teams through a 3 day Journey to the Intelligent Enterprise.

SAP’s intelligent ERP solutions are the Digital Core with S/4HANA that enable businesses to integrate end-to-end cross functional next generation business processes so that companies can become intelligent. Traditional ERP systems can’t keep up with the digital economy. SAP Best Practices for S/4HANA

SAP Best Practices for S/4HANA its not only recommended for New Customer or Installed Base Customer with a New Implementation, I recommend SAP Best Practices for S/4HANA for conversion as well. Installed Base Customer and SAP Partner can identify and evaluate the New Intelligent Suite Scope, getting New Innovation based on Preconfigured Scope Items of Best Practices like Cash Application Integration (1MV). The integration to the SAP Cash Application Solution helps to automate the invoice-matching process and provide the prediction results to SAP S/4HANA with the help of Machine Learning. Other fast benefits are to adapt the SAP Fiori Analytics Apps using embedded Analytics with Core Data Services (CDS). They help customer to understand business trends in real-time. The participants were amazed during the SAP Fiori exercises and got emotional about the Fiori functionality by using embedded analytics, Apps and transactions and creating catalogs and tiles.

SAP Best Practices for S/4HANA helps customer also run constantly the S/4HANA on the latest version and getting constantly the newest Innovation like AI/ML and being connected to the digital world in real-time. The recommendation here is to go back to standard, keep the S/4HANA clean and lean, and minimize the actualization/upgrade effort (upgrade quarterly). Do custom development like extensions, add-ons, modifications and additional custom application outside of S/4HANA at SCP (SAP Cloud Platform). If the customer S/4HANA system doesn’t run constantly on the latest and newest version, its doesn’t get all new innovations and will lose all those new benefits to improve its business.

Intelligent Suite Scope

The Mexican Partner teams were analyzing the customer circumstances with 2 reports:  Readiness Check Report and BSR Business Scenario Recommendation . Both reports are recommended during the discovery phase to analyze the functional and technical circumstances of the customer installation in order to choose the best deployment option and reduce unnecessary costs and risks.

The teams were evaluating the new Intelligent Suite scope based on the 2 reports and mapped in a first task the current customer scope with the SAP Best Practices for S/4HANA Scope, back to standard and added new innovated scope items like Fiori Analytics Apps and Machine Learning Scope Items. In a second task the teams were identifying if additional customizing, the current custom code are still necessary. If the custom code were still necessary the default approach is to do it at SCP. A benefit of SCP is also to communicate with the required interfaces over SCP.

Value Assessment & ROI

By entering the Intelligent Suite Project Scope into the SAP Transformation Navigator the Mexican teams could create the Value Assessment. By selecting the Value Driver based on the project scope, doing an aspiration they calculated the one-time and recurring benefits.

Based on the chosen deployment option, we chose the conversion (Brownfield), we analyzed the SAP software licenses and subscriptions, project efforts for conversion and SCP developments including the Infrastructure. The participants were surprised about how fast the pay back is and return on investment.
