When selecting an element in a table there are two type of selections

  • Selection of one or multiple elements of a list to perform an action (checkbox)

  • Lead selection (Line is slightly darker after selection)


For the selection for actions the checkbox can be used, nothing special to mention.

The lead selection is used to show the details for the element. In some hierarchies it appears to be difficult to hit the lead selection, as e.g. the expand button is getting hit instead of performing a lead selection when clicking on the left part of the list.

The trick is to click on a read only field in the list, this quickly changes the lead selection with no confustion with a checkbox selection or expansion. See the example in the little gif here:
