In SAP Business ByDesign (ByD), customers and partners have possibilities of enhancing its standard capabilities by accessing and extending objects that are exposed via the "Public Solution Model" (PSM; More Information about the PSM can be found in this Blog).

With release 1811 a new mobile app, the SAP Business ByDesign Mobile App has been released to the Google Play Store and the Apple AppStore. The contents available within this app are also underlying the PSM model and can be extended with the standard extension capabilities that are also offered in the desktop version of SAP Business ByDesign.

Prerequisites

To use the published solution templates you require an installed and licensed version of the SAP Cloud Applications Studio along with partner development access to a SAP Business ByDesign System on Release 1905 that is setup for partner developments.
The SAP Cloud Applications Studio can be downloaded from the SAP Software Download Center: https://support.sap.com/en/my-support/software-downloads.html.

Download and Installation of the solution template

  • From this Microsoft GitHub repository, download the "Mobile Bulletin Board Solution Template 1905.zip" file and store it locally on your machine.

  • Logon to the SAP Cloud Applications Studio and connect to a 1905 tenant.

  • Create a new solution based on DU Foundation.

  • In SAP Cloud Applications Studio, open the view "Implementation Manager" and press button "Import Solution Template".

  • Choose the ZIP file previously downloaded.

  • Activate the solution.

Configuration

To authorize a test user to execute the sample application, go to Application And User Management Workcentre and grant authorization for Workcentre "Bulletin Board".

Limitations

The solution templates are dedicated to a specific release version. Please find the release version in the name of the ZIP file, e.g. 1905. It is only possible to import the ZIP file in a system that has the dedicated software release installed.
