Changing the Product type from ERP to NW with SAP installed system information change using CISI file.
Here you will be able to understand about how to change Product type of system through Maintenance Planner and LMDB and also how to use CISI file for changing the system installed information…..
There might be the case were you need to change the system product type because of wrongly maintained in LMDB system information.
Because of that when we plan for system upgrade it will ask for DVD export for ERP but will not take the DVD export in READDATA_EXP step in SUM and give you the error like below.
If you check the logs of SUM and your xml file, it will indicate you for EHP upgrade export DVDs. But it will not take these exports ad give you error like below.
So for that you need to change the Product type from ERP to NW. There are Two ways we can do this.
1 . By using SOLMAN system LDMB .
2 . By using Maintenance Planner (If you do or do not have SOLMAN in your Landscape) .
By using the SOLMAN system LMDB
For this go to the SOLMAN system and run LDMB and select the system in Edit Mode and go to the Software -> Product Instances and select the correct the Product version according to your system components.
In My case (SEM-BW) we have ERP selected as Product version and SEM as add-on.
So we must change to NW.
Here I have selected the SAP NetWeaver and SEM product version EHP6 FOR SEM 6.0
When you upload the system data to Support Portal the system will show you in Maintenance planner as Error status.
Then you need to verify the system in Maintenance planner and generate the CISI/Correction file and system will comes as SAP NetWeaver.
By using Directly Maintenance Planner (If you do or do not have SOLMAN in your Landscape)
For this First generate the system XML from SPAM and upload this to Portal Maintenance Planner.It will again show you the system status in Error.
Then we have change in Planner S-user id .
Go to the Personalize -> verify system And Enable the Edit system option in portal.
It will give you option to edit the system information and product information when you verify the system in Planner. From there you can add/remove your Correct product version information as we did in previous step above.
In My Case (SEM-BW) I have selected the SAP NetWeaver and SEM product version EHP6 FOR SEM 6.0
Add/Remove the system product information/version.
And then verify the system in planner and save the transaction and generate the CISI/Correction file.The system will now be as Product as NetWeaver.
Now You can again plan for that system in Maintenance planner and run the SUM again and now it will ask for NW export DVDs and you will be able to past that step.
Now you able to do the change in Product type from ERP to NW.
How to Use CISI file for changing the system Installed product information
Before using the CISI file system will show you the earlier Installed product information.
In My case i am going for ERP –> NW. So it showing for me ERP as earlier installed software.
Now i have changed the Product type from ERP to NW and upgraded our system.so Now i will apply the CISI file to change the Installed Product version information also according to new Product version information.
In earlier steps we have generated the CISI file from the planner now use that CISI/Correction file in SUM to change the installed Product Versions as accordingly you have changed in LMDB and in Planner and we can apply this CISI file to using SUM tool..
CISI file name starts with MP_CISI_<nos.>
It will ask for DDIC user password.and then next..
This step will update the sysinfo. it can show you the error if you have selected any wrong information in software component.
Now it will update the system product information in Status Tab after applying the CISI file.
Now you will be able to change the Product type from ERP to NW and also corrected the SAP product information which shows in SAP GUI using CISI file with SUM tool…
