SAP S/4 HANA 1809 second feature package stack (FPS02) is out!

Second feature package stack (FPS02) for SAP S/4 HANA 1809 announced by SAP has been made generally available.

A feature package stack includes non disruptive and non mandatory innovations in addition to corrections and legal changes.

In this blog I also tried to explain the difference between FPS and SPS for SAP S/4 HANA on premise edition,hope may be helpful to understand.

SAP also releases feature packages, in order to fulfill on premise customers need for shorter innovation cycles that help gaining competitive advantage through innovation.As a reminder: Unlike the quarterly release cycle of SAP S/4 HANA Cloud, the on premise version has a release cycle of one key release per year.

For the product SAP S/4 HANA on premise edition, SAP is currently delivering 1 new key release per year, and some successive Feature Pack Stacks (FPS). Then comes the next key release, followed by several Feature Pack Stacks, etc.

Technically speaking, an FPS is similar to an SPS, but it may include non-disruptive, non-mandatory features where as Support Pack Stacks are shipped for a given release once the N+1 release is made available, until the end of the mainstream maintenance.
