SAP Spatial Solutions Early Adopter Care program, what it can do for you and why you should apply today. This program has two key focus areas: SAP HANA Spatial Services and SAP HANA as an enterprise geodatabase. This post focuses on the latter of the two.
Now what is it? The Early Adopter Care program allows you to experience firsthand the benefits of SAP HANA as an enterprise geodatabase with your own data in a 4-week engagement with no cost and no obligation. Esri's geodatabase and advanced data models, like the Utility Network Model, use HANA's native spatial datatypes and functions. Our joint SAP and Esri team does all of the heavy lifting throughout the four weeks. Once you are accepted into the program, we start with onboarding followed by an on-site meeting where we bring in our team to work directly with you. The program culminates in week 4 with implementation and evaluation where you provide feedback on your experience.
The benefits you can expect to witness firsthand are improved performance and seamless integration of your business data with your GIS data, both of which, in full production, lead to lower total cost of ownership. When you unleash SAP HANA as a geodatabase, you take advantage of in-memory spatial processing. Now you have seamless integration as a result of your business system (e.g. SAP ERP) running on the same platform as your GIS system of record (e.g. Esri). With ArcGIS Pro, you can create and manage data, create maps and do analysis with your geodatabase stored in SAP HANA. This means that you have improved performance because you no longer need to create or maintain summary tables or indices to gain query performance.
