Next week I will be again at SAPPHIRE. Together with quite a few other Microsoft colleagues we want to highlight how customers and partners can benefit from the strong partner / customer relationship between our two companies.

This year we have an even bigger booth (#729) where we will host plenty of sessions covering topics from SAP HANA on Azure, Azure IoT & SAP Leonardo, SAP Cloud Platform integration to Azure data services and analytics.

In Booth Sessions

These sessions will be a mix of Microsoft and partner led sessions. You can hear from EY, Opentext, Brave New World, Fujitsu, SAP, Infosys, T-Systems, Accenture, Qnovate, Capgemini, Wipro, Arvato, Cognizant, SiriusIQ, Softek what they do with SAP & Microsoft.

Official Sessions

But these are only the "in-booth" session. We also have quite a number of official SAP / ASUG sessions which talk about "Innovating with SAP HANA on Microsoft Azure", how to " Harness the power of IoT data across intelligent edge and intelligent cloud" or Microsoft own experience with our move to SAP on Azure, ("Microsoft’s journey to SAP S/4HANA on Azure", "Lessons learned from migrating SAP application to the cloud with Microsoft Azure").

DevOps

I have to admit that the session I am mostly looking for is the one about DevOps! As you might know, Microsoft entered the world of ABAP and GitHub with the "ABAP SDK for Azure" almost a year ago. That was just the beginng and Microsoft was very active looking into abapGit and how this could help us in our internal developing process. In the session "How Microsoft Uses Git for ABAP Code Management" on Wednesday, 03:00 p.m. - 03:40 p.m. S310H (South Concourse, Level 3) Gopal Nair, Sr Software Engineer, Microsoft Corporation and Ram Bairavarsu, Sr Mgr - SAP Applications, Microsoft Corporation will talk about how Microsoft Corporation uses Git for ABAP code management. Git complements several existing SAP tools for code versioning, transportation, and additional capabilities to manage the custom code lifecycle. Hear how Microsoft uses Git for ABAP to keep its code in sync and enhance code quality.

From what I have seen so far I can highly recommend this session. Make sure to check it out if you are attending SAPPHIRE.

I will spend most of my time in our booth talking about integrating SAP and Microsoft, leveraging SAP Cloud Platform, SAP Fiori and of course Azure services. If you are interested, come by and say "Hello"!
