Intrastat in SAP Business ByDesign – Current Approach

Intrastat declarations are periodical declarations on trade within the European Union (EU) regarding both dispatches and arrivals, to be submitted directly by respondents in EU Member States to the statistical authorities of their country.

Initially, SAP Business ByDesign has supported a selected number of countries such as Germany, France, Austria, Great Britain, and Italy, which support was withdrawn in 2015 even though the functionally was still working in most places. Since this led to some confusion, we would like to summarize the current situation:

1. Intrastat can only be used by customers with the help of a partner or though own add-on development – for all EU countries
2. With the help of partners or own add-on development: the data must be completed, and the Intrastat file has to be built so that it can be used for upload and reporting to the EU country authorities according to their needs.

Currently, we have several customer projects supported by the SAP Business ByDesign ecosystem of partners in different EU countries.
