FI accounting documents and CO documents have been merged into full-fledged journal entries in the universal journal. This groundbreaking achievement is not the end of the journey, however. Around the bend we can expect even more fundamental developments that enhance ease of use of the unified accounting landscape.
Here are a few highlights:
- No time-consuming adjustment postings will be necessary anymore. Thanks to the single source of truth, all areas will be updated in parallel. Legal reporting and decision support are based on the same data.
- Currency handling will be unified in all parts of financials (up to 10 currencies will be supported - even in management accounting)
- Parallel shifted fiscal years don´t force you to set up multiple controlling areas
