This is our submission for the SAP Cloud Platform Portal Developer Challenge 2018-2019
Pentos is an IT consultancy and software provider with global reach. Every individual of us is working hard to make our customers happy. “The customer is king” is a principle to which many service providers ascribe. On top, we know that the only thing as important as client happiness is employee happiness. Everyday millions of employees struggle to manage both work and private life. Pentos actively supports employees in achieving an enjoyable work-life balance in various ways. Now, one new way is the Employee Care Portal.
One important aspect, which provides the facility to keep employees happy, is to know what employees care most about at work.
That’s why we introduced the Employee Care Portal which gives employees some general information about the employee care project. SAP’s Cloud Platform Portal helped us to integrate all components and combine them with a modern and harmonized user experience.
Cloud Platform Application
This allows us to collect feedback that helps us building long-term value with knowing what our employees like and what they wish for.
We want to make sure that everyone can strive in a balanced environment by anonymously taking the pulse of stress and happiness level.
Often times employees have innovative ideas which help improve the business. This solution ensures that every single idea will be heard.
No one is perfect, we know that there is always room for improvement. The suggestion box solution will let us know if one should have a concern.
Successfactors is our company’s HR solution where all employee centric processes are bundled. HR and team leaders work with it on a daily basis. By collecting and presenting the information in Successfactors we were able to bring the results of the employee care solution directly to the relevant work places. The Successfactors reporting capabilities together with role based permissions are a powerful tool to give insights via charts and detailed drilldown by respecting data privacy.
On top, Successfactors serves as the identity provider when accessing the SCP applications through the SAP Cloud Platform Portal, and deliver a seamless SingleSignOn experience.
Our company’s chatbot solution assists with guidance regarding the Employee Care project. It can be launched from anywhere in the portal to answer questions employees might have. The chatbot is implemented via a shell portal plugin.
SAP Cloud Platform Portal
Cloud Platform Portal is the single point of entry for all our employees within our Employee Care project. It combines all components in an integrated and user friendly way. The portal runs on multiple devices using the responsive design paradigm.
The most important topic when launching a new project is to present the story in order to get your target group on board. Cloud Platform Portal helps us to present this story in an appealing way right where the employees are looking for it. For more detailed information, we included an FAQ section. Via the contact section, employees can address their question directly to the right department.
Thanks to the help of the Cloud Platform Portal this was easily done by using the following widgets:
- Header with tiles
- Large Icon Links Card
- Header with text
- Shell Plugin (used to launch our support chatbot solution)
- Joined Card
- Design Carousel
- HTML Widget (used to show department locations in a google map)
- Social Networks
- Standard Menu (used in the FAQs section to navigate to the appropriate sections)
Our implemented SCP application has been integrated seamlessly into the Employee Care Portal. Only logged in (known) users are able to access the application.
Role Based Navigation
Role based navigation within the portal allowed us to show certain menu entries only to specific users. Without login, project story and contact details are available. Logged in users can in addition access the feedback application. Users who have been assigned to the “Administrator” role will be able to navigate to a configuration page to generate customized links to the application, which are used to send out individualized surveys.
We’re planning to take this project further and run new use cases side by side and gradually adopt more helpful cloud services over time.
