Leveraging Core Data Services to Maximize Your SAP Software Investment, IUC 2019 Workshop

If you attend the International Utilities Conference in Milan, Italy this year don’t skip the following workshop designed to give you an answer the question:

How can I utilize the Core Data Services (CDS) technology platform within my S4HANA operations?

Workshop leaders Con Ntalianis (Solution Manager, IBU Utilities) and Yevgen Trukhin (Development Architect, Utilities Industry) will give an overview of:

  • concept of virtual data model (VDM)
  • virtual data model in S4HANA for Utilities
  • core data services (CDS) in VDM
  • different types of CDS views and their functionality
  • extension capabilities and conventions
  • embedded analytics functionality when using CDS views

We will do a hands-on activity where we take a concrete analytical use case of exception management cases in Utilities Industry (BPEM cases). As you might know the exception cases are generated within certain mass activities in business processes in Utilities, e.g. invoicing/billing/meter reading and so on. By analyzing the BPEM cases you will be able to gain insights on the root cause of issues that you experience within your business processes.

We will implement a virtual data model showing all steps up from view creation, OData exposure to creation of analytic overview pages with Fiori Elements. We will also demonstrate tools like SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC) and other tools that help to create reports and visualizations.

Looking forward to meeting you in person!
