Have you ever been asked 'Which version of XXX software component you have in your ERP, or BW, or NetWeaver, or S/4hana etc ... ?  Either to be assisted through Product Support channel or by a consultant, this information has much more value than simply analyzing note applicability...

Check it out how to get them in the 2 main different skins of an ERP:

1st step - open your SAP GUI, course:



2nd step - Go to System -> Status!



Done ?

3rd step and we are ready to go -



And that's it. Here I emphasized SAP_APPL. With this info, you can check

1 Product Availability Matrix for release, notes that are delivered in your SP-level, expected maintenance of your component

2 Note applicability, of course... 🙂

and something that for me is very useful when we do not know anymore where to run when troubleshooting exteeeeeeeensively:

3 Note Search on Launchpad Portal !!!

There you can use several filters if you chose EXPERT SEARCH ❤️ (love that) that are related to your issue... such as component (ex. BC-BW-ODP, BW-BCT-MM-* etc), SP level, if you want a

-code correction or

-recommendation

-information

-modification code

-etc
