Whether you are a partner or an external student, you can enhance your career by becoming a certified SAP Business One solution consultant. The current, valid certification is at product release 10.0 level (SAP Certified Application Associate - SAP Business One Release 10.0).

To prepare for the certification, you need to know the basics of logistics and accounting in the SAP Business One product, plus some knowledge of implementation, configuration, customization and support tools. So how do you get started?

Self-study

All self-study training materials are provided free by SAP on the Learning Hub (use the link to register for free).

Note: Partners have pre-defined accounts. They don’t need to register and can access SAP Learning Hub via SAP Partner Portal

Once you have your Learning Hub account, locate the SAP Business One – 10.0 Learning Journey - Consultant or Business User role. Basically, the Learning Journey is your road map to the materials that you need to study for the certification.

The Learning Journey contains tiles (programs) for the various modules of the SAP Business One product (sales, purchasing, finance, implementation, etc.), and you should generally follow the flow. When you open a program you will see the individual course topics. The topics marked with a blue icon are relevant for certification study:

Classroom

In some countries SAP offers a 10-day training class (4 days logistics, 3 days accounting and 3 days implementation). If you are an SAP Business One partner, contact your local product expert for class information and sign-up. The topics in the class are exactly the same as the self-study certification-relevant topics.

Practice, Practice, Practice

Studying the materials is a good start but you also need hands-on experience to solidify your learning. In the self-study materials you can find case studies for you to practice.

Use the demo database for SAP Business One to practice the case studies. Access the demo database by using one of these options:

  1. In SAP Business One - go to Administration - - > Choose Company and logon to the demo database (OEC Computers). User code: manager; Initial Password: manager.

  2. SAP Business One on SAP Cloud Appliance Library – get your SAP Business One environment for practice purposes. This option is available for SAP Partners, SAP Customers and Developers. Click here for more details.

In the classroom training your instructor will provide equivalent product demos and you will also practice on the same case studies.

In addition, you have quizzes to test your knowledge.

The Exam

The certification exam is an 80-question multiple-choice test. More details of the exam, and a sample test, can be found on SAP’s training and certification web site - C_TB1200_10 page.

You can take the exam right from your laptop or desktop, without having to travel to a test or training center. You will be able to sign up for an SAP Certification Hub subscription, which enables you to take the certification exam in the cloud. Your subscription price lasts for a year and includes the cost of retakes.

Depending on your country, you may also be able to take the certification at a local SAP training center. The training and certification site will show you the exam options available in your country.
