SAP API Management – Make the DevPortal your own
As many of you know by now, SAP API Management comes with 2 interfaces: the one to manage the APIs you want to publish, and the one dedicated to the API consumers (developers), where they can sign-up, search, find and test your APIs (the so-called “Developer Portal”).
Until now, the branding of the DeveloperPortal was static. But many customers wanted to have a specific company branding. This is now possible through the new Developer Portal!
This new DeveloperPortal aligns to what you can find on the SAP API Business Hub, giving your own Developer Portal a fresh and modern look!
But the new Developer Portal also lets you define a header, a logo, a description and links!
In the next steps, I will show you how to do this, even though it is no rocket science.
Login as a Dev Portal admin
In order to see the customisation options, you need to login into the Developer Portal with a user that has admin rights there. Once logged in, you can see that the DevPortal look and feel is quite new.
Click on the Manage link on the top of the screen. After that, click the General tile.
In this section, you can define a company logo. Select any logo of your choice and click Save.
Note that for now the color scheme can’t be changed; but changing the logo will “neutralize” the blue-ish colours of the DevPortal.
In the same screen you can click on Home Page – Name and Description on the left-hand side, and define the title and description of your Developer Portal.
Simply click on Save.
Last but not least, you can now add some links at the bottom of your Developer Portal.
To do so, simply click on Reference Links – Links at Page footer on the left-hand side. This opens an editor where you can insert the URLs you want to add. Note that the UI automatically adds the “http” suffix to your URL.
Once your link is inserted, click on Save, and you are done!
The DeveloperPortal now features your logo, your title and description, as well as a customised link at the footer of the portal! Awesome!
Hi Sven,
I am looking way to do custom look and feel for SAP API Developer portal but not able to find way. is there is a way or this is all we can do to help customer?
Regards,
Amlesh
Hi Amlesh,
for now you can only change titles, logo and "updates".
In the DevPortal it says that colours will be modifiable but I did not see that on the roadmap...

Sven
Hi
I was exploring the options here and looks like login is prerequisite to view any exposed APIs.
But in some other tools we have options to expose the content publicly (to discover what an org provides interms of APIs) , do we have anything with SAP APIM to expose publically?
Thanks,
Dhanish
