The new Solution Package SAP Best Practices for Solution Manager 7.2, edition 3 is available in the SAP Best Practices Explorer (BPX) and ready for download to your SAP Solution Manager 7.2 system. The content allows SAP Solution Manager 7.2 customers to visualize their ALM processes, e.g. to efficiently implement S/4HANA.

What is new in edition 3:

  • New content for Standard and Focused Build (see details below)

  • Structured Libraries folder

  • Updated Structure Element content and links

  • Reworked process diagrams now being close to the BPMN modelling standard


New ALM best practice processes and process diagrams:

  • Standard SAP Solution Manager - Modular Processes

    • Project Management:
      3 processes and 3 diagrams: Engagement Project, R2D with Task based Integration Project, R2D with Header based Integration Project

    • Release Management
      1 process and 1 diagram: Manage Release

For download information, see SAP note 2363258 . There you will find the content package for SAP Solution Manager as JSON file for direct download and import into SAP Solution Manager 7.2 (at 2. Further SAP Best Practices Solution Packages). Further technical information about this package: BP_SOLMAN consists of BOM.130 (JSON file) only.

As it has no Process (Scope Item) definitions in the internal Best Practice tools nothing more can be shown in SAP Best Practices Explorer. So only the pre-selection of the package is possible (via S-User). This has the (small) benefit to be shown in the local SAP Solution Manager to start the physical import from there.
