During a visit to Biomax in Planegg, Germany, I had a chance to gain additional insights from Klaus Heumann, CEO of the company Biomax.
Klaus, what is Biomax?
Biomax Informatics AG was founded in 1997 with a mission to develop software solutions based on the real needs of life science and health organizations. Biomax are convinced that systematic knowledge management is the key to understand complex processes and help clients get the most from their data resources. We recognized early on that clients need a solution to deal with increasing quantities of unstructured data and have focused development on this goal. Today, Biomax delivers solutions globally which allows systematic knowledge management: from the digitalization of internal and external data, to the semantic integration of diverse content and methods, and further to the systematic feedback of results and experiences for optimization and sustainability.
What products does Biomax provide?
Biomax has an extensive portfolio of products. For instance, BioXM™ Knowledge Management Environment is an all-in-one enterprise knowledge management system for better integrated, evidence-based research and development. This platform provides a central inventory of all the information representing an organization’s collective knowledge. While individuals focus on generating knowledge in their specific fields of expertise, the whole organization can benefit from that knowledge to make better decisions and follow more intelligent strategies. We have also been working on semantic search long before it became a buzzword. The Biomax Semantic Search Platform is an enterprise search platform for fast, and comprehensive knowledge discovery, combining semantic modeling, ontologies, linguistics and artificial intelligence (AI) algorithms to deliver results based on interrelated meanings of facts. These are just two examples from our portfolio – more can be found on our website.
Why have you decided to partner with SAP?
At Biomax we are particularly proud of our organic growth as well as our long-term relationships with our customers and business partners. We recognize the inroads that SAP has taken into life sciences and healthcare and are excited by the portfolio that SAP has put onto the market in recent years; such as SAP HANA, but also the SAP Connected Health platform. Both companies believe that if we join forces, we can make a difference for mutual customers.
What are your next steps?
Together with SAP, we have kicked off the process to identify those scenarios that can truly make a difference for a customer. Ultimately, we are seeking to create a solution that will combine Biomax’s technology with those of SAP, that visualizes the art of the possible. If you are attending HIMSS19: Biomax and SAP will both be on site, which provides an opportunity for to learn more about this exciting partnership – more information in this blogpost.
