Hi,
You've probably already heard about ABAP Platform as a Service or PaaS or to give it its official name the SAP Cloud Platform ABAP Environment?
If not,
harald.kuck published an excellent introductory blog
here.
But have you seen it hands-on?
Did you know that it's now available in the SAP Cloud Platform free trial?
In case you’re unfamiliar with the SAP HANA Academy, we’re a team that publish hands-on tutorial videos on all sorts of SAP-related technologies to our YouTube channel. Don’t be fooled by the team name – we’re not only here to spread technical knowledge for HANA – although that’s a large part of what we do!
Anyway, we’ve just updated our tutorial series on SAP Cloud Platform ABAP Environment which you can access here:
SAP HANA Academy ABAP Environment
Originally there were six video tutorials inspired by the
TechEd 2018 App Space mission however we've completely refreshed, revised and expanded the content to focus on the latest version of the ABAP Environment and the fact it's now available in the free trial.
The video tutorials take you through key aspects of the ABAP environment including getting started by creating an instance and setting up ABAP developer tools - all the way to building and enhancing a fully functional OData service - previewed with Fiori Elements.
So whether you've already got access and want to get going or you're simply interested in seeing exactly how to work with ABAP in the cloud these videos will hopefully provide a great starting point.
You can access the tutorials directly as follows:
All of the sample code used in the video tutorials is posted to our GitHub
repository.
If you’re new to SAP Cloud Platform itself then you might also want to check out our
onboarding video tutorial series which should hopefully get you up to speed pretty quickly.
Have fun!
Philip
