Advanced analytics is becoming more critical

Companies have a huge amount of data

As data increases, the types of data changes in nature, and adding to the problem

There is an analytical skill gap; who can make sense of massive amount of data?

Work with executives, make business decisions, deep mathematics, etc.

Executive expectation is increasing; more outcomes and ROI from data

Data science term is difficult to comprehend as part of day to day lives; try to learn difficult tools

Difficult to know where to begin and executive successfully

Effort to "skill up"

Not everyone needs to be a data scientists

Huge number of business analysts, familiar with outcomes, what organizations need

Business user is interested in outcomes

Analytics Cloud is focused on the right hand side of the slide; provide business users with information and what they need to be successful and enable the business analyst

Augmented analysts - make machine learning simple for business users - three ways to do that:

Make machine learning part of the day to day experience for the business analyst

Search to insight is an example; have a search box in Analytics Cloud to find information quickly; natural to any user who has used Google

Help find information quickly - automated business exploration - use smart insights light bulb that provides suggestions and outcome of that chart

Smart Discovery - enable you to point a business question at a data set - e.g. express interested in order value, and it will build descriptive reports, key influencers, simulations and outlier data points.

Help business user obtain a better understanding of data they already have

Predictions allow you to generate new data; not just a prediction but a probability of something happening

SAP Analytics Cloud integrates into the stories

"A journey" for business analyst, starting with search to insight, and move to automated data discovery and down the road use the Smart Predict

Discovery can happen on your current data set. For predictions need a set of historical data where you have a known answer

Provide conversational interfaces; one of the goals for search to insight

It will autocomplete for you, resolve ambiguity; provides quick answers

Provides a "natural way" to interact with the application

Aid adoption and speed of analysis

Today search to insight is adding charts; future is to plan predictions (big plans)

Above is an example of a Smart Discovery, what influences sales opportunity - you can see key drivers in a single click, see relationships of data

"Takes the bias" out of the equation

More confidence in results
