At the time of execution of the reports from Business Analytics Work Center, you may notice few of the errors/warnings. Here in this blog i want to highlight some of the common scenarios which are noticed in any of the standard/custom reports available in the “Design Reports” work center view.
Report cannot be opened; report an incident
Check if this message is followed by the error message, in case it is, it is possible that the report contains too many data. If you define some filters in the report it should run fine.

This error message is returned when the report has too many data and can’t retrieve it all on screen. Setting some filters and selections on the report will resolve the issue in case this is related to the amount of data being fetch.
No report data available to display; check variables
This is not an error message, is just an information that the report you are trying to retrieve does not contain any information. This happens because you probably have no information in the system that the report is trying to retrieve. In case you are sure you have the information maintained in the system, please, also check if you have authorization to see data for this report and if the report is not showing only Test Data.
Result was restricted on data source level – more than ****** records
This is normally visible, if the data is restricted at the data source level and this is a warning rather then a error.
Value missing for mandatory variable *******; Select a value
This is because you have missed the value selection in one or more mandatory fields in the report.
Unit Code X does not exist (table /ISQC/C_UT)
This is because of the missing unit code “X” from the Unit Table maintained in the system. Here you need to maintain the unit code X so that this can visible in the report.
Report is inconsistent
This error is visible if there are changes in data source on which report is based. By the word “Changes” i mean if you have removed any extension field from the data source which is already used in the report.
Above errors can be visible in any of the reports related to any work center (Sales Reports, FIN Reports, CRM , SCM, Opportunity, Sales, Services Reports or any other specific area).
This will help in the initial analysis of the report error from the end user or by the concerned Support Engineer
