Fiori Change Notification – Unable to create Order from Notification

When processing maintenance request through fiori application, maintenance planner after review would normally  like to follow up with an activity of creating maintenance order. This creation of maintenance order is enabled within the general data tab screen of the notification.

It is possible that this feature will not be enabled within the notification general data screen. This blog is to share this issue encountered while creating maintenance order from within maintenance notification and the fix that was found out subsequently.

The following screen shot illustrates the issue that was encountered:

Create Order for Notification may not appear under Assigned Order.

On analysis,  the following business roles were found to be assigned to the user id :

  • SAP_BR_EMPLOYEE_MAINTENANCE
  • SAP_BR_MAINTENANCE_PLANNER
  • SAP_BR_MAINTENANCE_TECHNICIAN

The user should normally have maintenance planner role “SAP_BR_MAINTENANCE_PLANNER” to perform ” creation of maintenance order” activity.

On removal of SAP_BR_EMPLOYEE_MAINTENANCE and SAP_BR_MAINTENANCE_TECHNICIAN roles from this user id, it was possible to “Create Order for Notification” from within maintenance notification general data screen.

The root cause for the issue is  due to  multiple business roles (planner and technician roles) assigned to the user id.

I assigned the role as suggested by you still I am not able to Create Order for Notification. I could only be able to assign order to notification. Kindly suggest.

A button labeled "Assign Order" appears which has option to create order in the drop down. If you do not get that option, check if the user has necessary authorization to create a maintenance order.

Thanks for sharing this observation. I found that there is no need to remove SAP_BR_EMPLOYEE_MAINTENANCE. Only SAP_BR_MAINTENANCE_TECHNICIAN need to be removed.
