Q&A

Q: Sometimes with Query Designer sometimes refresh

A: With Analysis Office, remove close connection with BEx Query Designer; give end user more options in tools

Give more to end user

You can still jump to query and change something and refresh

Q: Broadcasting workbooks in BW/4HANA

A: Only doing this via the BI Platform; this provides the services

BW/4HANA does not have the complete NetWeaver structure

Q: Conversion of IT workbooks – from Analyzer

A: option to convert existing workbooks; some services from SAP COE to do mass conversions of workbooks – possible by a service

Q: When will Analysis Office 2.8 be available?

A: Plan is Q2 next year

      Thanks for great summary.

Was there any mention of Universe connectivity in v2.8?

I am sure I have seen it on the previous Road Map, being planned for v2.8

Was there any reasons given for the delayed release of v2.8 (was expected Nov-18)?

      Many thanks, Lukasz

Hi Lukasz - I don't see Live Office listed on the Analysis Office roadmap https://www.sap.com/products/roadmaps.html#pdf-asset=0430a022-c37c-0010-82c7-eda71af511fa&page=5

I'll let SAP answer themselves about the 2.8 release - as you know everything in the future is subject to change.  You can also ask at this upcoming webcast - BI: What's new in Analysis Office? - register with your email address.

      Hello,

I still don't see any Universe Connectivity feature on the roadmap nor in any other mentions on the web.

I am sure I have seen it in the previous roadmaps --> https://blogs.sap.com/2017/06/21/news-in-analysis-office-2.5-asug-webcast-recap/.

Did you have any answer about it from SAP?

      Thank you.

      Giulia

Hi Giulia - I don't work for SAP but for universe access I believe they recommend using Live Office

I wonder, with SAP's ever growing partnership with Apple, why we still don't have AfO for MS Office on Mac?

      Is there a particular reason?

Hello Vadim - thank you for reading and commenting

This is a good question for SAP; I recommend asking it at answers.sap.com (I don't work for SAP)
