TIME DEPENDENT MAPPING BETWEEN FINANCIAL STATEMENT ITEMS AND G/L ACCOUNTS
With SAP S/4HANA Cloud for group reporting 1811, you can manage time-dependent mappings between financial statements items (FS) and general ledger accounts (G/L) - this new capability helps you historize your account structure.
Our Map FS Items with G/L Accounts app enables you to map your FS items either individually or collectively. With the revision feature you can create multiple time-dependent versions of your mappings to keep track of account changes and report accordingly over time.
When used along with other existing consolidation features (or with new features we plan to release), the time dependent mapping helps you perform simulations for your consolidated data, such as preparing restatements or simulating the effect of exchange rates, divestitures, mergers, acquisitions on your consolidated financial statements.
The Map FS Items with G/L Accounts app delivers on the following key features:

ACCOUNT DRIVEN CONSOLIDATION RULES
With SAP S/4HANA Cloud for group reporting 1811, we help you configure elimination rules that automatically evolve with your Financial Statement (FS) account structure. Our account-driven consolidation rules is based on FS attributes to help you seamlessly synchronize your configuration with the changes in your chart of accounts - opening each rule to attach the proper FS items is no longer needed.
In addition to the elimination and currency translation attributes already existing, 1811 release delivers a new attribute called FS Item Role. You can use the FS Item Role to build dynamic consolidation rules such as calculation of annual net income, deferred tax, retained earnings, currency translation difference or rounding difference.

In SAP S/4HANA Cloud for group reporting 1811 we further enhance our integrated Data Collection app on the SAP Cloud Platform to help you collect financial data from subsidiaries that are not yet using SAP S/4HANA Cloud – for example a company you just acquired.
