Q&A:
With CORS how do users outside the organization access SAC that do not have VPN accounts?
The recommendation is to place SAP Web Dispatcher in the DMZ and do a simple redirect. There is more information under Step 10 of the Guided Playlist at https://www.sapanalytics.cloud/guided_playlists/sap-hana/
Why it is only possible to write back data from SAC only through BPC? Customers who do not want to use BPC as a planning and consolidation tool still need to purchase licenses for BPC. Is it the best solution?
If you only have SAP Analytics Cloud then you can update and collaborate on your plans in SAP Analytics Cloud. What write base destination are you thinking of?
in case of Data Import – do we have limitation of data size
yes there is a limitation per import run and you can do successive runs to append additional data. More details at https://help.sap.com/doc/00f68c2e08b941f081002fd3691d86a7/release/en-US/11b4e5ff76eb4747bc255d7037be1f01.html#loio11b4e5ff76eb4747bc255d7037be1f01__p_connectimport and https://help.sap.com/doc/00f68c2e08b941f081002fd3691d86a7/release/en-US/6aa6a99d4eb5467896c4fd47bc9c7642.html
CORS cannot be used for data import?
CORS is only used for Live connections.
Web dispatcher can be used to route requests to a DIRECT live connection and the configuration is much simpler than previously done with the PATH connection type.
Hello, we have a customer who’s asking for a PoC, consuming a table from the S/4 HANA. Do you have like a guide for this?
S/4HANA connections are documented in Guided Playlist and Documentation: https://www.sapanalytics.cloud/guided_playlists/connect-sap-s4hana/ and https://help.sap.com/doc/00f68c2e08b941f081002fd3691d86a7/release/en-US/d2a1edf7cda74315a2c5052de8a3a4eb.html
It is possible to connect SAP Analytics Cloud with an SAP ERP Suite On HANA located in Amazon Cloud y not exposed to internet
yes you would use the SAP Cloud Connector. We have generic documents for this and if you Google you will find some specific ones from Amazon. Our generic ones are https://www.sapanalytics.cloud/guided_playlists/connect-sap-erp/ and https://help.sap.com/doc/00f68c2e08b941f081002fd3691d86a7/release/en-US/f1f537fecf6e425bbd21b36bdd2a3fe3.html
Can we connect SAC Analytics cloud using live/direct import connection to a HANA db on neo cloud platform
you can do a Live connection to HANA 1.0 on SAP Cloud Platform per https://help.sap.com/doc/00f68c2e08b941f081002fd3691d86a7/release/en-US/f733b47974674d2da65cef3db90ec088.html and https://help.sap.com/doc/00f68c2e08b941f081002fd3691d86a7/release/en-US/a30b5127419a4fd0aeef7be91fdf9836.html
Hi, we have installed the Agent Client onpremise to connect the cloud. Can you tell me please, which ports and urls we need to authorize in our firewall ? Our base url is us3.hana.ondemand.com. Thanks.
the SAP Cloud Connector connects using the standard 443 port. More information is at: https://help.sap.com/viewer/cca91383641e40ffbe03bdc78f00f681/Cloud/en-US/e6c7616abb5710148cfcf3e75d96d596.html
What limitation will be there in terms of data load for data import option
this is documented at https://help.sap.com/doc/00f68c2e08b941f081002fd3691d86a7/release/en-US/11b4e5ff76eb4747bc255d7037be1f01.html#loio11b4e5ff76eb4747bc255d7037be1f01__p_connectimport
Is there an Excel connectivity with the planning capability of SAC?
SAP Analytics Cloud can import from excel either directly from a file or via a file server: https://help.sap.com/doc/00f68c2e08b941f081002fd3691d86a7/release/en-US/6d2b5ba745a548d099602aaed21b8466.html

How to maintain master data for existing models
Tammy - very informative for a person who is researching about SAC capabilities and connecting with SAP HANA.
I have a question similar to the one mentioned in your Q&A around write back.
We are connecting SAP Enterprise HANA with SAC using live connection.
One of the requirement is to pass specific values from the SAC and run queries in SAP HANA. This is similar to global parameters which we want to maintain in SAP HANA with an option to change it using SAC and than running the query. This will require write back and the SAP documentation says its only available with BPC. Do you know if we can achieve it without BPC?
Thank you for your comment. Unfortunately I am not using BPC so I know very little about it. I recommend asking at answers.sap.com or attend one of the upcoming webcasts on the topic: BI: Hybrid Planning Scenarios Built by SAP Analytics Cloud for Planning and SAP Business Planning and Consolidation
Thanks Tammy, I have posted the question at answers.sap.com as well.
I misstated earlier that this is for BPC.
We want to expose a HANA table to the user using SAC which they can change and maintain with a live connection. Do you know if that is possible?
Thanks.
I don't know the answer to that one either; I recommend asking at answers.sap.com
