SAP continues to differentiate its Cloud Platform offering by adding a rich portfolio of business services. More than 50 of these services, building blocks for efficient development of SaaS applications and extensions on SAP Cloud Platform are available already, featuring a consistent and harmonized experience.
Most recent deliveries focus on enabling GDPR, and on master data.
GDPR, General Data Protection and Privacy Regulations, is a big topic for everyone these days – you for sure have noticed many mails and websites asking you to consent to the use of your personal data. SAP CP now supports you with dedicated services for consent management and personal data management to cater for your needs when it comes to developing GDPR compliant apps. You’ll also find a data retention engine that helps you to ensure that personal data are deleted as legally prescribed, and an audit logging service in the portfolio of SAP Cloud Platform services shortly.
Harmonized
master data will be a cornerstone to further boost SAP’s Intelligent Enterprise story as they provide LoB Integration and enable efficient SAP Cloud Platform Extension Development with data sharing. Starting with the Business Partner service on SAP CP, we plan to extend from there to cover other key elements like e.g. the Asset, the Product, etc. This will feature purpose built services to access, manage, enrich, & orchestrate master data across business applications, built on a core data model. You can re-use these shared Master Data services in LOB specific intelligent business processes like Source To Pay or Lead To Cash.
Key Functionality will include
- Re-Use master data services to perform central maintenance on key data elements.
- Loosely coupled integration to support business processes across solutions
- Data Enrichment to improve quality of master data via external data providers like D&B, CDL etc.
- Orchestration Services to federate master data as needed by consuming applications
- Enable data integration/sharing for SAP Cloud Platform Extensions out-of-the-box
