SAP Analytics Cloud, Software As A Service (SaaS), receives a great number of updates and occasionally some new features don't quite get the visibility they should. For example the Smart Assist capabilities have come to all Live connections and this includes the Live Connection to Universes.

So here is a screen shot of SAP Analytics Cloud connecting to a Universe, in a 'live' way. It shows 'Smart Grouping' in a bubble chart and a predictive forecast on a time-series chart.

If you share my passion with Universes, then you'll be keen to understand what you need to do to enable these features. Look no further than my Live Universe Best Practices and in particular a section I've just added on Smart Assist (Predictive....

With live connections the data stays on-premise, there's no 'lift and shift' of data up into the cloud! Rather all the data stays on premise. Its pretty clever technology!  However, to enable these Smart Assist (predictive) capabilities then some data needs to be sent to SAP. The administrator of your service, needs to enable this setting so you stay in control should your organisation not allow data to leave your premise.

It would be great to hear from anyone using this feature (share a screen shot if you can). I'm sure others would be very interested in your use-case and what insights you found.
