Re-imagine business processes to leverage the true potential of Digital Journey of Cloud, Analytics, AI, ML, RPA, IOT & Blockchain

The sparkling words – “Digital, Cloud, Analytics, AI, ML, RPA, IOT and Blockchain” have moved beyond CIO and CDO. Everyday conversation of business and functional leaders of the most progressive and innovative businesses now includes tech.

 

IT leadership team is no longer about CIO alone. It now comprises of the business who have decades of experience running the business. These business leaders, have pervasive and persuasive understanding of technology. They know that “Digital technologies” like Cloud, Analytics, AI, ML, RPA, IOT and Blockchain can empower them with not just their innovation and disruption potential but will also provide them with tools they need – automation based on actionable data and insights.

Technology renders limited value unless it can enable new efficiencies in business processes.


It is therefore no surprise that, in real world, the first and very basic question remains the same “how and where” to best employ digital technologies. There are tens of ways to solve one problem and to optimize the processes. Is digital the answer?

Business process reengineering is the time-tested tool and the very first step to realize the disruption. It presents us with amazing opportunities to create and deliver compelling services using the power of innovation.

Disruptive is not about small incremental changes.

It means to eliminate the expensive and inefficient business processes and even if that asks to abandon the old sometime archaic rules and procedures that have been used up to that time that might not add value in new world and creating new (including unimagined) ones. It is time to shorten cycle times through the introduction of simpler and more streamlined operations. Motivations could arise from industry and technology movements as well as internal use cases

POC proves the technical viability of the compelling new use cases and also enables the CIOs fine-tune the performance metrices and establish the basic parameters of resource rationalization, operational efficiency and adoption risks.
