Tips for Uploading SCORM 2004 4th edition Articulate StoryLine Courses to SuccessFactors LMS

Articulate Storyline is a common authoring tool for development of online courses which can be uploaded to SuccessFactors LMS.

Training developers can publish the course using AICC, SCORM1.2 and SCORM2004 4th edition. The main advantage of SCORM2004 4th is that we can track the record of each question of the included quiz by standard SuccessFactors LMS report – SCORM Exam Detail report.

So, here is a detailed manual for uploading Storyline courses into SuccessFactors LMS.

Part 1 – Publish the course in StoryLine

First, Publish StoryLine Courses using SCORM 2004 4th edition with Pass / incomplete.

Please note that selecting  Pass / incomplete is a key element for reporting completion status to SuccessFactors LMS.

After publishing completed, you should have a zip package that can be uploaded to the LMS

Part 2 – Uploading the Published Course to LMS and creating new content object

Now, lets move to the next part – uploading the content to the LMS.

In SuccessFactors, go to Content > tools > Import Content > add new content

And import the Course file…

Edit content object and rename the content object ID. it’s not a must but it will be easy for you to search this content object later.

Edit the content object ID

And run the import Job…

When this Job is completed, you can move to the third part, which is creating the online item

Part 3 – Creating online item

Create a new online item, then Go to online content > select Settings

Click the + sign > add content object

Save and assign the item to user.

That’s it, your content is online

Successfactors Reports

you can run “SCORM Exam Detail report” to see all user attempts and answers

The report looks like this:

Good luck

      Thanks for the post David.

As a quick hint, you should be adding a Content Package rather than a Content Object at the item level. Look here for more info.

This is not working for me. I am able to successfully import the content and create an online item. However, when I assign it to myself and launch the WBT, I get a bar at the bottom of the first slide with buttons (Continue, Suspend, Quit). I don't know why they appear as they are not needed because I already have the player functions within the WBT itself. Is there any way to prevent this bar from appearing?

I then completed the WBT, and when I ran the SCORM Exam Detail report, I got no data from it.

I can't help with the reporting issue, but this KB article should help with the UI issue: https://userapps.support.sap.com/sap/support/knowledge/en/2188058

Maybe fixing one will fix the other?
