Simplified: Plan a New System for SAP Solution Manager 7.2
When I navigated to the Maintenance Planner for SAP Solution Manager system installation, finding the Plan a New System tile felt like getting an exact match from a search engine. You know the feeling. It’s a brief eyebrow-raising satisfaction – multiplied after a particularly complicated or weird search. How about that? An institute in France actually studied whether the dog flea or the cat flea jumps higher. (Spoiler alert: It’s the dog flea!)
Plan a New System simplifies the process to . . . plan a new system. Makes sense, right? Before, you needed to apply the current Support Package Stack (SPS) after completing SAP Solution Manager installation. Now, you can install your SAP Solution Manager 7.2 directly on the target SPS level, like our latest SPS 07. That’s the simple version. For more detailed info, check out our Master Guide and Installation Guides.

Actually running SWPM with this parameter SAPINST_STACK_XML leads to SWPM starting SUM after the installation to update the system to the latest SP. This is not limited to Solution Manager. You can do this up to date installation with every new installation 🙂
There is no option to Install an SAP SOLUTION MANAGER system.
Am I missing any step ? Thanks
Hi Welly,
We'll get you straightened out. I ran this by the experts and they would like you to create an incident for your case on component BC-UPG-MP for further analysis.
Thanks,
Johan
