Built-in Analytics

Work center overview pages in new card design

  • Work center overview pages migrated to card design
As of now, the default SAP cards and the personalized content on the overview pages of the respective work centers are migrated to the new card-based design, like the Overview page of the Home work center. You can now also use the same personalization concepts, for example, picking the card from the gallery and changing the card settings.

  • Key User Adaptation of Work Center Overview Pages
As a key user, in the adaptation mode, you can adapt work center overview pages to publish corporate content to other business users. You can centrally add important KPIs and report cards for this work center. You can also change the cards for the central Overview page of the Home work center. If a user does not have the authorization for a single card, this card will automatically be hidden.

  • Refresh rates for KPI and Reports defined by key user
As a key user, you can optimize the system resources using overview pages by setting the refresh rate for KPIs and reports centrally. Once you change the setting from daily to hourly, you can influence the refresh and caching behavior of all overview pages for a specific KPI or report.

Adapting Data Sources with New Fields

  • Add Missing Standard Fields
Per default, data sources include the most important fields needed for reporting. If you want to report on any additional fields, you can adapt the related data source using the Adapt button in the Design Data Source view.

  • Enable Dates for Process Time Calculations
Per default, most dates in reporting are modeled as characteristic to enable efficient filtering and drilldown options. As consequence, it is not possible to interpret such dates as a number and use those dates for calculations within the formula editor. As of now, you can adapt your data source and add dates as new key figures to your data source. You can then calculate date differences in days, and better report on lead times, which improves the visibility of process times.

Improved Analysis Pattern in HTML5

  • Suspend Automatic Refresh on View Pane
Per default, every layout change causes an automatic refresh of data. The toggle button Defer Refresh on the View pane allows to suspend this automatic refresh.

  • Advanced Filtering in Selection Pane
The selection pane within the analysis pattern allows you to filter the desired data based on defined report variables and/or additional filters. As of now, you can use the complete spectrum of complex selections, for example, “between”, “contains”, “excludes”, etc.

  • Working with Dates and Date Hierarchies
It is often helpful to group dates in weekly, monthly, or quarterly groups and to expand and collapse them hierarchically. As of now, you can relate a date field to a fixed or variable hierarchy, for example, Year — > Quarter —> Month —> Day.

  • Report – Report Navigation on Chart Elements
As of now, you get the possible navigation targets when you click a bar, column, or bullet in a chart, similarly to the tabular reports

Improved Integration / Open Interfaces
We recommend using the new OData API on data source level in case larger volumes of data are needed on document level.

  • Review OData Result with Button “Build OData Query”
If you have exposed your data source for OData or you consume an OData result of a report, you can use the new Build OData Queries button, which allows you to generate the desired URL and the test OData result on a separate browser tab to easily check the exposed data based on an interactively created OData URL.

  • Download of Code Lists
If you want to upload your codes (for example, status codes) into your third-party system, you can easily download the relevant codes and descriptions.
