SAP API Business Hub Partner Meetup for Independent Software Vendors (ISVs) and SAP Partners

SAP Integration and Certification Center (SAP ICC), part of SAP Partner Innovation Lifecycle Services (PLS) and SAP API Business Hub Product Management jointly organized an exclusive Meetup on SAP API Business Hub for Independent Software Vendors (ISV) and SAP Partners on June 19th, 2018 at SAP Labs India, Bangalore.

The theme of the meetup was “Engage your Ecosystem using the SAP API Business Hub” primarily focusing on understanding the requirements and priorities of our ISV/partners with regards to use/consume/deliver the API content on SAP API Business Hub. The objective was to provide a high-level overview of SAP API Business Hub, understand how ISVs/partners perceive SAP API Business Hub and showcase some of the best practices to discover and engage ecosystem using the SAP API Business Hub thereby helping our ISVs/partners in being customer-centric.

Participants who attended the workshop came from various companies and these partners were either using the digital content on API Business Hub or planning to create solutions and intending to share digital content via SAP API Business Hub. They were very happy not only with the various topics that was covered during the workshop but also to have a close one to one interaction with the SAP API Product Management and SAP ICC team.

The most interesting session and the highlight of the workshop was during second half of the day that is “Design Thinking”. The aim of this session was to get the participants think on the merits of SAP API Business Hub and to identify their issues. Design Thinking methodologies were applied to get participants to think from the problem as well as the solution space perspective. The participants were grouped into two teams who had to explore the various challenges in the space of discovery, license and consumption of digital content. The exploration was done by first wearing the hat of an application developer and then that of a content provider. Finally, the two groups were requested to whiteboard the sequence of experiences they would wish their customers to have in a store which offers digital content. This session not only helped to understand the ISVs/partner experience of our current model of SAP API Business Hub but also helped us to gauge their expectation and usability from the aspect of delivery and commercialization.

Maximum participants clearly identified SAP API Business Hub as a delivery channel to be of highest value to them.

At the end of the workshop, the collective feedback from ISV/Partners was to have many more such events to keep them informed with the latest offerings of SAP API Business Hub.
