Every 2 weeks there is a new cycle released with additional features
Great what’s new document published every 2 weeks
Smart predict / insight will be covered in a rescheduled webcast
Source: SAP
New functionality to allow you to consume and interact on live data sources
Source: SAP
How improve the prompt experience
2 things:
1.If I you have remote / live data source and have prompts; link prompts to set once (HANA/BW
Giving control to the end user

Interact more with charts with hierarchies; Christina demonstrates this in the recording.

Timestamp in Data Preparation:
A new modelling type, Timestamp, will be added in wrangling with a format drop down
Upon publishing, all rows not matching the format will be dropped
When dataset is uploaded, timestamp will be detected automatically (source: SAP)

Date Difference Calculations:
Ability to create date difference calculation over:
Year
Quarter
Month
Days
Limitations:
Acquired only, requires multiple dimensions (Source: SAP)
Source: SAP
Create your own dimension
Calculated dimensions – concatenate them, use a formula
Measure value grouping (Lumira had this)
Source: SAP
There is a table in application
Create custom rows and columns with calculations using the table

-Reuse and design once; Christina also demonstrates in the recording.

See more data using landscape
People are using phones more often but the real estate is less
Source: SAP
Visualize geographical locations – bubble charts, improvements to understand and read bubble charts
Adjust range and sizing to highlight outliers
Source: SAP
Take advantage of aggregation, take advantage in a hierarchical way
Chloropleth layer, style like a bubble, and bring in an additional measure
Allow you to stay focused on what is important
Drill into an area
Performance and caching capabilities
Source: SAP
Allow you to visualize geographic data based on own region
Only support for remote HANA, and some modeling done on the HANA side
Source: SAP
Dynamic variance; compare things, compare over time, measures over measures
Source: SAP
Compare quantitative data, as a distribution
New chart sets added
Source: SAP
Hyperlinks available for a while; give ability to choose what to pass in to hyperlink
Source: SAP
Optimize this; one outlier allow you to break axis for bubble/scatter chart
Adjust spacing for chart overall, what is the outlier and clustered
Source: SAP
More control over the story viewer
Added to the table (measure input control)
Source: SAP
Always see the latest data – configure auto refresh, new live data
Source: SAP
Helps story designers, and who else is making changes
Inform you when in edit

Customize home screen, change background color
Question | Response |
for mobile devices and others, is there a way to push info to users without having users logging in and finding the specific data (story, dashboard, tables, etc)? | You are able today to share stories with other users, in which case the user is notified that certain content has been shared with them within the tool. You are also able to send the user a hyperlink to a selected story. |
this is good stuff and as the speaker just pointed out, it can take a little long to pull and recalc all values. one word of caution to listeners is volume of live data being pulled. We have had to create extracts (which cause non-realtime) to keep SAC from crashing our primary haha db, which has happened many times until we learned which cause that. | Thank you for your comment. Another useful tip is when working with a large datasetets is applying filters to limit data volume. In cases with blending, try to use 1 unique dimension for linking – this should also save you some time. Another useful feature available to the user is “Optimize Story Building Performance” available in the modeller |
Modeling capabilities in SAC – Can it support complex transformations? | as bring in data into acquisition, there are transformations you can do there. |
