Public access to Crystal Reports related Knowledge Base Articles

One of the biggest values for any company is its Intellectual Property and SAP is trying to  protect its Knowledge. As a result, most of the SAP Knowledge Base Articles are protected (gated). Only Users with S-user credentials have access to most of the SAP Knowledge Base.

But Crystal Reports is a separate case. It is a Client application that does not require a maintenance agreement, so a S-user ID is not provided to the owners of the application.

As an exception, SAP provided public access to all Crystal Reports related Knowledge Base articles.

Here is an example of the KBA link:

https://apps.support.sap.com/sap/support/knowledge/public/en/1638102

The last digits are the actual KBA number. If a user knows the KBA number then just add it at the end of:

https://apps.support.sap.com/sap/support/knowledge/public/en/

So far Google is the best Search engine for Crystal Reports Public KBAs. But sometimes Google search returns Gated links. Use the last digits and the above link to get access to the  KBA you need.

If you come across any Crystal Reports related KBA without Public access, just comment on this blog and we will do our best to make sure it is accessible.

      Very good to know.

Note that in documents such as list of fixed issues in SP23, the link provided doesn't work.
Why not provide the public link?
Also, Note IDs can't be accessed.

      See for example: https://wiki.scn.sap.com/wiki/display/BOBJ/Crystal+Reports%2C+developer+version+for+Microsoft+Visual+Studio+-+Service+Pack+23+-+Fixed+Issues

      Thank you, Ido,

This blog is related to Crystal Reports KBAs only, but the link you mentioned is a Wiki page and is a different story. I will inform colleagues in charge of it.

The Wiki page has a list of KBAs and if you find any of them not Publicly available, then let us know.
