To provide new functionality and correct software errors between release-cycles, IBM is providing Program Temporary Fixes (PTFs) for all supported releases of IBM i. Since the first availability of SAP software for IBM i and its predecessors, IBM has maintained lists of PTFs that were found to be important in this environment. These PTF lists are published for each IBM i release separately as Information APARs and updated on a regular basis. Currently, the following PTF lists are available:

II14536 - SAP SUPPORT REQUIRED PTF LIST FOR IBM i 7.1
II14741 - SAP SUPPORT REQUIRED PTF LIST FOR IBM i 7.2
II14816 - SAP SUPPORT REQUIRED PTF LIST FOR IBM i 7.3

In the past, you could subscribe to a mailing list to receive an e-mail notification whenever updates happened to these Information APARs. Due to the enactment of the European General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) on May 25th, 2018, the mailing list will no longer be maintained by IBM.

To stay informed about changes in these Information APARs in the future, you have two choices:

  1. IBM will inform you about updates to the Information APARs in the Preventive maintenance section of the SAP on IBM i wiki in IBM developerWorks®. You can register yourself with your IBMid and then follow the wiki and these wiki pages in order to get notifications when updates are applied to these pages.

  2. In the future, the SAP on IBM i development team will inform you about updates to the Information APARs through this blog in the SAP on IBM i Community. In my blog entry of March 15th, 2018, I have described how to follow certain tags (such as IBM i or IBM Db2 for i) and receive e-mail notification when new entries are created with these tags.
