In this example, we will add a RKF “Activity Plan Cost” to the PCS report to be displayed after “Plan Cost”. This RKF will display plan cost for only activity resource type.

To achieve this, we will copy to existing “Plan Cost” key figure in the query and add an additional restriction of Resource Type = 0ACT

It is good practice that if any changes are required to these queries, they should be copied into the customer namespace and then changed. This is to ensure that the active version of the queries does not get overwritten by SAP delivered queries after an upgrade. In this blog we will change the SAP delivered queries. Queries copied to customer namespace can be changed in the same way.

To add the new RKF, Launch BEx Query Designer --> Open query /CPD/AVR_MP_Q008 --> Navigate to Rows/Columns --> Select key figure “Plan Cost” --> Right Click --> Click Copy --> Right Click “Key Figures” --> Click Paste --> Rename copied Key Figure to “Activity Plan Cost” as shown in the previous blog on renaming key figures

Double Click “Activity Plan Cost” --> Drag “Resource Type” from Plan dimension to the selection

Right Click on “Resource Type” --> Click Restrict --> Type “0ACT” in Direct Input and click Right Arrow --> Click OK

Click OK --> Save the query

Execute the PCS report. The report now shows the new RKF for “Activity Plan Cost” and displays the plan cost of only Resource Type Activity (0ACT)
