On 11 May 2018, 150 bright-eyed graduates from across India travelled to SAP Labs India in Bangalore to attend Freshers’ Day 2018. The one-of-a-kind event, held annually on the Labs India campus, celebrates the best and brightest who will be starting their SAP career in the coming months. And what a welcome they had.
In a fun-filled day of activities, the Freshers were treated to inspiring talks from SAP leaders and guest speaker entrepreneur Varun Agarwal; took part in a team-building workshop where they had to build a jeep from scratch, and were entertained by special guest comedian Kanan Gill who left the crowd in stitches.
I spoke to 12 graduates to find out their thoughts on the experience and why they are excited to be part of SAP.
Shantanu Sharma
I am from… New Delhi, India.
I joined SAP because… I want to help make the world a better place.
I am most excited… to learn about the different SAP technologies which help huge organizations run better.
My favorite part of Freshers’ Day was… getting to see how SAP uses augmented reality to help factories run efficiently.
I love working in tech because… it enables us to come up with efficient solutions for everyday problems faced by a large number of people.
Kanishka Amar Bhambhani
I am from… Pune, India.
I joined SAP because…. it is among the leading organizations known for their work culture and innovations in technology.
I am most excited about… working and gaining knowledge from the amazing and talented minds at SAP.
My favorite part of Freshers’ Day was…. there were too many! From learning about new technology, to laughing our hearts during Kanan Gill’s show, and the message given by entrepreneur Varun Agarwal on chasing our dreams without thinking – every session taught us something new. I am grateful that SAP considers us stars that will help them create a constellation.
I love working in tech because… it not only connects people from different cities, states and even countries but brings them together under an organization where they work on one single goal – to help people evolve and make their lives better with each passing minute.

My favorite part of Freshers’ Day… was listening to Gemma Hudson's motivational talk. She inspired me to take chances to seek for opportunities in difficult situations.
I love working in tech because… it is meaningful work that develops and changes rapidly with time. There are a lot of opportunities to learn and grow.

My favorite part of Freshers’ Day was… the workshop in which we performed in teams, the session on digital transformation in the industry sector, and Kanan Gill's stand-up comedy.
I love working in tech because… I learn something new every moment and keeps me motivated to believe the unbelievable.

My favorite part of Freshers’ Day was… getting advice from speaker Gemma Hudson, which I can apply to my daily life. “Don't be in a hurry. Be as you are. Give yourself time, and explore new opportunities.”
I love working in tech because… it's the best way to make a change in people's daily lives.

My favorite part of Freshers’ Day… if I had to choose one, it was the jeep building workshop, because it showed the importance of team work.

My favorite part of Fresher’s Day… was getting inspired to become great leaders and learning about following our passion, while keeping company goals in mind.
I love working in tech because… I am eager to learn about innovative technologies.
Nilisha Maheshwari
I was born in… Ujjain, Madhya Pradesh, India, but have lived in Bangalore for the past 20 years.
I joined SAP because… I didn’t want just a job, but a career and SAP is the best place to be. The work SAP does is incorporated by businesses all over the world and it definitely brings a lot of pride.
I am most excited about…. the journey I will have with SAP, the kind of work, the diversity of people, the variety of activities and a lot more things that will help both me and the company grow!
My favorite part of Freshers’ Day was… the team building workshop, the Dil Se Early Talent panel discussion and the goodies! Comedian Kanan Gill topped off what was already an immensely entertaining and fun day.
I love working in tech because… it is something that drives both the world and me! Technology is something that I am really passionate about and I give my all for it. It’s amazing to see when your code actually makes a difference in people’s lives and adds value.
