One of the great things about working in a global organization is having the opportunity to speak to colleagues around the world about their Life at SAP. My name is Heather Walker and I recently had the opportunity to speak to a group of women from all careers levels in the Nordics about their careers, and what drives them. One of those women was Louise Svanvik from Sweden.

Louise started at SAP in May 2016 having heard great things from a former colleague:

“I was curious to try a similar role to what I have done before but in a new setting with company providing interesting solutions & services. My role is Nordic Operations for SAP Digital Business Services. My responsibility is to be a Business Partner to the DBS management team and execute a standardized operating model.

What I love about SAP’s culture is that there is a constant focus on improving how we do things and what can be done better. This include the employee survey where our points of view are taken seriously and are used as a tool to enhance SAP.”

I asked Louise what success means to her:

“Success to me is when I am able to combine and balance having both an interesting and challenging job, as well as enjoying family life and the other important pieces of my life.

I very much enjoy outdoor activities such as skiing and to explore the archipelago by boat. Thanks to my 3 children I also get to enjoy sailing, gymnastics and football as a supporter.

When joining SAP, I was inspired by so many of my new colleagues to ride my bike to work. That has become a new thing that I very much enjoy doing and could probably be defined as one of my hobbies rather than my journey to work!”

I asked Louise if she had any advice for other people thinking of joining SAP?

“Do not only think it, do it!”
