One of my favorite things about working for SAP is traveling around the world to discover all the innovative and diverse ways our customers are leveraging SAP Cloud Platform to transform their businesses.

On a recent trip to Australia, I met with the CIO of Ruralco, an SAP customer and leading Australian agribusiness. In the not so distant past, field staff traveled all over the country to conduct paper-based stocktaking for Ruralco’s expansive rural supply businesses. It took twelve hours, on average, for a field worker to complete a stocktaking in that paper-based universe.

Using SAP Cloud Platform, Ruralco developed a mobile application for their field staff in only six weeks. The results were transformative. Stocktaking went from a twelve-hour slog to a streamlined two hour run through. Development and innovation on SAP Cloud Platform is so streamlined that Ruralco rolls out updates every two weeks.
