One of my favorite things about working for SAP is traveling around the world to discover all the innovative and diverse ways our customers are leveraging SAP Cloud Platform to transform their businesses.
On a recent trip to Australia, I met with the CIO of Ruralco, an SAP customer and leading Australian agribusiness. In the not so distant past, field staff traveled all over the country to conduct paper-based stocktaking for Ruralco’s expansive rural supply businesses. It took twelve hours, on average, for a field worker to complete a stocktaking in that paper-based universe.
Using SAP Cloud Platform, Ruralco developed a mobile application for their field staff in only six weeks. The results were transformative. Stocktaking went from a twelve-hour slog to a streamlined two hour run through. Development and innovation on SAP Cloud Platform is so streamlined that Ruralco rolls out updates every two weeks.
It’s exciting to watch customers work with SAP Cloud Platform—to not only integrate, create and expand applications—but to reap crucial savings in time, resources and money. Time is saved across the board with rapid application development capabilities. Resources are maximized with templates and packaged tooling to boost productivity. And, with our new consumption-based pricing, customers are optimizing every dollar spent.
While Ruralco’s mobile app is trekking across Australia, Shell Aviation takes SAP Cloud Platform into the skies with an aviation refueling solution that has saved countless hours not only for Shell but also for the airlines they service at 850 airports across the globe. And, like Shell, Philips Lighting is partnering with SAP to remain agile and maintain their global leadership position in connected lighting systems and services. With real-time data-gathering capabilities and speed-of-light innovation on SAP Cloud Platform, Philips Lighting is making smart cities of the future a reality today.
I’m looking forward to my next trip to check out SAP Cloud Platform customers in action, but in the meantime, join me live to learn more about Ruralco, Shell and Philips Lighting and other businesses large and small, and find out how SAP Cloud Platform can work for your organization.
My upcoming webinar takes place May 9 and focuses on how businesses seamlessly integrate and connect apps, data, and processes; how they extend current cloud apps to add new features that meet their company’s needs; and, of course, how they build brand-new differentiating apps to meet new challenges, attract new customers, and drive new business. The possibilities are truly limitless.
Don’t miss out on learning how SAP Cloud Platform can save your business vital time, money, and resources while maintaining a strong competitive edge. I look forward to telling you more on May 9!
