SAP Analytics Cloud – BW Queries in parallel now

Perhaps you already have seen all the latest features and functionality that was added with Wave 5 and Wave 6 to SAP Analytics Cloud – but I would like to highlight one specific item, which with a very simple switch will help to improve your performance.

With Wave 5 you can now configure, how many parallel sessions you would like to allow on your SAP BW system in combination with your SAP Analytics Cloud system.

You can navigate to the System Administration area of your tenant and enter how many parallel sessions you would like to allow.

After you configured this, a story that contains several BW Queries, will then execute those BW queries in parallel and you should see a huge performance improvement.
