My journey to SAP GFSS
My name is Hana and I am new to the Global Finance Shared Services (GFSS) team in Prague in my role as Organizational Development Specialist. In my posts I will be sharing with you my SAP journey including what my role entails, what GFSS does and what Life at SAP is really like. As my first post I would like to start with how I came to join SAP in Prague.
How it all started? Once upon a time there was a girl, Hana (that’s me!), who was not happy in her role and didn’t feel like the company culture was a fit. So, she started to look around for other possibilities and new challenges. A role in SAP caught her attention so she applied. The Recruiter replied quite quickly and scheduled the first-round interview. As this went great, the second-round interview was agreed right away. This one was virtual as the manager is based in Walldorf, Germany (and as I am not originally from Prague, it was also very convenient for me).
But before I had my virtual interview, I attended a job fair in Brno where I also saw an SAP stand so I stopped by to chat about life at SAP. With unbelievable luck, I met one very important person there who would also influence the decision about hiring me – my future colleague and buddy! We had a lively chat for a few minutes unraveling the lucky coincidence about me applying for the role of her colleague.
Fast forward, and the interview with (now my) manager was great. One more short call with my future buddy to make the previous short encounter a bit more official and answer some additional questions from both sides and that was it.
After a few days of tense waiting and finally – the call confirming I was selected for the role! Relief, excitement, joy!
Before the big working challenge could start I had to overcome some “smaller” ones: finding a flat in Prague, packing all my stuff, moving, then unpacking it again. Thankfully this was all managed with constant help and care from my future colleagues.
So, here I am, a fully-fledged GFSS team member! I am excited to share my stories with you, so stay tuned for more of my #GFSSstories
