Today we are pleased to announce the release of
SAP HANA 2.0 SPS 03. SAP HANA 2.0 SPS 03 includes a mix of new and continuous innovations across the themes of database management, data management, analytical intelligence and application development.
Database enhancements allow for advanced data and privacy protection including data anonymization and column encryption. Improvements for high availability/disaster recovery (HA/DR) will further increase system availability and help protect enterprise-critical applications with a new multi-target system replication option, a time travel option for fixing logical errors and invisible take-overs for reading transactions. New features include a fast database reset option for tenant DBs as well as the option to restore the system database with its tenants. Enhancements in the areas of dynamic tiering, workload and performance management and analysis further improve performance and usability.
Data Management enhancements include an easy integration of Blockchain data from the SCP cloud service in SAP HANA. We added new data integration and federation sources like Google BigQuery and support for Spark 2.1 and 2.2 and Teradata 15.1 to bring you a broader view of the business. We also added spatial data type support for federated HANA to HANA data scenarios to help you gain new insights by combining your business data with geospatial information. For the quality of your data, we enhanced and simplified the match functionality and candidate selection in Smart Data Quality (SDQ) to help you identify and build the best record. For data modeling, we now offer a cloud option for the Enterprise Architecture Designer and a repository transport so you can easily migrate your architecture designing to the cloud.
Analytical Intelligence enhancements further increase execution performance and productivity for data scientists by providing an automated selection of algorithm parameters for machine learning (ML) and the predictive analytics library (PAL). New functions and the ESRI support for SAP HANA as a geodatabase will allow you to gain the most insight from geocoding your business data. Improvements for graph like openCypher and GraphScript extensions support more complex analysis and scenarios for your connected data. And new sentiment analysis for Japanese extends the coverage for text analysis to the third largest economy (based on GDP).
Application Development and Tool enhancements include new functions for both SQLScript and SQL, support for Hibernate and Ruby simplifying development and expanding use cases. Python joins JavaScript/Node.js and Apache Java as delivered buildbacks and officially supported runtimes in XSA providing more options for your application server layer of development. The SQL plan stability option allows to keep the same query performance for long running queries even after upgrading your HANA system or after unexpected statistic changes. Support for client-side data encryption enables a new class of security for applications. And a new XSA Admin Cockpit provides the same experience as the SAP Cloud Platform Admin Cockpit, reducing the learning curve and streamlining the tasks for admins that operate in both environments.
