Support for SAP S/4HANA Implementation from Scratch in Six Phases

SAP Enterprise Support Academy provides Expert Guided implementations (EGIs) that support and guide you through your SAP S/4HANA adoption project. All SAP Enterprise Support and PSLE customers that are registered in SAP Learning Hub can use these offerings. For a greenfield implementation, the following selected EGIs will support you through the six phases of your implementation: Discover, prepare, explore, realize, deploy, and run.

Discover – Roadmapping and UX Strategy

The SAP S/4HANA Roadmapping EGI supports the Discover phase of your Digital Transformation project. This EGI explains the benefits and innovations of SAP Finance and SAP Logistics in SAP S/4HANA.  With SAP S/4HANA Finance, you can create a common view of all financial and operational data, provide flexible, easily consumable reporting, automate processes—and instantly evaluate the financial implications of business options with real-time analytics, prediction, and simulation, all with a delightful user experience.

SAP S/4HANA elevates the supply chain from procurement to production with innovations and redesigned processes in inventory management, manufacturing, warehousing, sourcing and procurement, quality management, plant maintenance, and more, SAP S/4HANA transforms the SAP Logistics landscape. This EGI empowers customers with knowledge of the SAP Finance and SAP Logistics offerings in SAP S/4HANA so the benefits of moving to SAP S/4HANA today are understood.

SAP Fiori should be considered in the planning of any SAP S/4HANA project, as SAP Fiori is the default user interface for SAP S/4HANA. Therefore, it makes sense to understand the SAP User Experience (UX) Strategy and the SAP Product Road Map for SAP Fiori. The respective EGI helps participants to avoid common errors, and provides access to accelerators and resources to help them quickly realize the benefits of SAP UX technology for their business.

Prepare – SAP Activate and Data Migration

If you plan to implement SAP S/4HANA from scratch, and migrate your existing data in a greenfield approach, we recommend starting with the five-day EGI session that shows you how to use SAP Activate. The SAP Activate framework defines how to implement an SAP S/4HANA solution, and consists of three main components − methodology, SAP Best Practices, and guided configuration. Accordingly, the attendees:

  • Prepare for planning and implementing SAP S/4HANA with SAP Activate
  • Are introduced to SAP Best Practices which can be utilized to accelerate implementations
  • Learn how SAP Activate can be utilized for their SAP S/4HANA implementation

In the five-day EGI session about data migration, attendees will become familiar with the Rapid Data Migration Architecture and learn how to use different tools such as SAP Data Services for data migration, SAP Migration Cockpit including demo with example objects, and Guided Data Migration. Finally, the learners will know how to define their data migration strategy, including planning and resources, and will know about additional services available to them, which are included in the SAP S/4HANA Value Assurance Package.

Explore – SAP Best Practices and SAP Fiori Configuration

SAP Best Practices for SAP S/4HANA are tailored specifically to accelerate and simplify the adoption of SAP S/4HANA for faster time to value, by providing pre-configured content for core business processes with role-specific, responsive, and a friendly user experience. In the EGI session SAP S/4HANA: Solution Activation with SAP Best Practices, participants will learn about general concepts of Best Practices and how to implement a business solution, such as finance, using the standard solution builder to setup a sandbox system. In addition, the expert will explain concepts of importing Best Practices using SAP Solution Manager 7.2 to accelerate the learners’ SAP S/4HANA implementation journey.

The academy offers this EGI that aims at reducing time and effort for an SAP Fiori configuration. The expert describes the steps required to configure an SAP Fiori UX for SAP S/4HANA on-premise environment, using automated task lists to speed up configuration. Included are topics such as user role configuration, embedded search setup, Me Area, App Finder, SAP Easy Access menu configuration, as well as notifications and notification channel setup.

Realize – SAP HANA Data Modeling

In the realize phase you build and test your entire solution environment, based on the business processes and requirements identified in the explore phase and captured in your backlog document.

Deploy –SAP HANA Database Monitoring, Administration and Custom Code

In the first deployment EGI, SAP HANA: Monitoring and Troubleshooting, participants learn how to connect their SAP HANA database to SAP Solution Manager, including the configuration of root cause analysis tools, and technical monitoring for SAP HANA. The SAP expert explains all managed system configuration steps and guides the learners through the configuration process. In addition to that, the Advanced Database Monitoring EGI goes even further into SAP Hana Database Monitoring.

In the third deployment EGI, SAP HANA: Database Administration and Operations, participants learn how to administer and operate the SAP HANA database in a time-efficient and cost-effective manner. They will get to know the respective tools and be enabled to align their administration and monitoring procedures with other systems by means of SAP Solution Manager.

EGI SAP HANA: Database Administration and Operations

The SAP HANA: Make Your Customer Code Ready EGI provides basic knowledge on how to perform a code check review and it demonstrates how to evaluate the usage or coverage of an object and how to find it. The session also deals with methodology and tools, SQL performance guidelines, and some SAP HANA specific solutions.

Run – SAP Fiori Monitoring and Analysis

An SAP system landscape supporting enterprise mobility in most cases consists of several components, including a web server for external access, a Mobile Enterprise Application Platform, a SAP NetWeaver Gateway, and the backend system. SAP Solution Manager offers several tools to manage these components. To enable customers to exploit the monitoring and analysis capabilities of SAP Solution Manager, SAP offers an EGI session. Participants not only learn how to record and analyze E2E traces for SAP Fiori user interfaces on any device, but also how to configure SAP Fiori Frontend Server and SAP Mobile Platform for operations in SAP Solution Manager.

      Hello,

when trying to open e.g. link "EGI SAP S/4HANA Roadmapping", it doesn't lead to a valid online learning.

      Regards

      Hello Wolfgang,

Wolfgang Mayer The correct URL for this EGI is this . Let me know if it works for you.

To consume this Learning types, there are different ways: You may want to join the SAP S/4HANA Value Map which is included in the ES contract, which will provide with more content of this type (and other types as well).

Access to the Enterprise Support Academy page:

Access to the SAP S/4HANA shortcut of the Enterprise Support Academy. This may be overwhelming as you will be flooded with lots of content for different deployment options, different project phases, different transition pahts..

For a more “structured” approach, you could register to the SAP S/4HANA Enterprise Support value map .

      Best regards

      Renaud
