How to get rid of ‘Login Failed’ error in SAP BO WEB Intelligence Rich Client 4.X

There is a certain error which we sometime get in SAP Business Objects Webi Rich Intelligence Rich Client stating “Login Failed.”

This error occurs only in WEB Intelligence RICH CLIENT not in BI Launchpad.

The most tricky part of this error is that when you enter proper credentials in the Rich Client it gives you error as “Login Failed”.But if somebody enters wrong credentials it will say “Invalid User Id/Password.”But everything goes fine as expected in BI Launchpad.

To remove the error and to successfully login to WebI Rich Client please follow the below steps:-

1.  Go to My Documents folder of the client machine from where you are logging in to the WebI Rich Client. There will be two folders named My SAP BusinessObjects Documents My BusinessObjects Documents.

2. Inside the above mentioned two folders there will be one folder named LocData folder.

\\Documents\My SAP BusinessObjects Documents\LocData

\\Documents\BusinessObjects Documents\LocData

3. Inside the LocData folders in both the path resides some special files with the extension .lsi

The *.LSI files are used and stored locally (Local Security Information).The Local files are stored in the LOCDATA directory.

4.Take backups of the .lsi files and delete the files from the LocData folders.

5.Also delete any .log files if any of those are generated in the above both locations.

Try to login through Rich Client now.There will be no issues now.
