Hi, I’m Aleks and I work with the SAP HANA Product Management team. I’ve been with SAP for over two years, and one of my key areas of focus is SAP HANA security. I’m really passionate about the intersection between data privacy and data analytics, so I’m excited to share some news with you about a project that my team has been working on and an opportunity for you, our customers, to get involved in the future of SAP HANA.

In November 2017 we launched a new data anonymization trial web service that provided a sneak peek into the data anonymization functionality we are planning to add into SAP HANA. What excites me most about this technology is that data anonymization allows you to unlock new value-add scenarios for your business and perform analytics on data that could not be leveraged previously due to privacy or security considerations. One of the key advantages of data anonymization is that it gives you the ability to derive insights while protecting the real data.

As work on this functionality continues, the development team is opening up the chance for current SAP HANA customers to collaborate directly with product management and engineering during a customer engagement initiative (CEI) to influence the future development of this feature. There is no fee associated with participation in this project and I expect approximately 8 hours of your time will be spent collaborating on proposed functionality, validating scenarios, and helping to build requirements for this new feature.

Our customers will benefit from getting early insights into the data anonymization feature as well as the ability to work directly with product management/engineering to shape future product development. This input will help us to ensure that the new functionality best meets our customer’s needs and various use cases. An added benefit is that customers who participate will have networking opportunities with other customers who have similar needs and have chosen to participate in the CEI as well.

Sign-ups for the SAP HANA data anonymization CEI will be open through March 15th, 2018 and the project will kick off in April. To find out more about the CEI process and benefits in general, please visit the SAP influence and adopt page. Take advantage of this unique opportunity and sign up to engage with us today! I look forward to meeting you.
